ColleagueOne documentation

Getting started

Create a first colleague, run bounded work and review the result.

This guide takes you through one small, reviewable job. Choose an outcome that can be checked by a person and does not require broad access.

Before you begin

You need an invitation to a ColleagueOne organisation and access as an owner, admin or member. Your role and organisation policy determine which colleagues, models, skills, plugins and connections you can use.

1. Choose a bounded outcome

Start with a request such as:

Compare the three supplied supplier proposals and prepare a recommendation with a comparison spreadsheet.

Name the inputs, expected artifact and reviewer. Avoid starting with an open-ended instruction such as “manage procurement.”

2. Review the colleague draft

Describe the goal in ColleagueOne. The colleague builder proposes a role. Before accepting it, inspect:

  • the persona and purpose;
  • enabled tools and connections;
  • rules and approval points;
  • selected model and budget;
  • any schedule for recurring work.

Change anything that grants more capability than the task needs.

3. Start the work

Attach the source files or make the approved connection available, then start the run. The colleague works in an isolated cloud computer. You can leave the conversation and return to the workspace without losing the work state.

4. Respond to Needs You

If the colleague needs clarification or reaches a sensitive action, the item appears in Needs You. Read the context before answering or approving. Decline or redirect the action if the scope is wrong.

5. Review the result

Open Results and inspect the produced artifacts, source material and status. Treat the output as working material: verify important facts and make the final organisational decision yourself.

What success looks like

The result matches the requested format, cites or includes its supporting inputs, and remains within the reviewed tools and rules. Next, learn how the workspace separates results, approvals and files.
